Allan McIntosh Brown, IRISH MUSIC MAGAZINE Calasaig member, Celine was a finalist in the inaugural Young Scottish Traditional Musician of the Year competition and winner of the All Britain Fleadh for tenor-banjo in 2001, She is in her 3rd year of the BA (Scottish music) course at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Celine was featured alongside Keith Easdale, at Celtic Connections Master & Apprentice concert series in 2003 and performed with him at the inaugural Burns Memorial Lecture given by Kofi Annan at the United Nations New York in January 2004 Her debut solo album Something Else, whose guest musicians include some of the best-known and most respected traditional players in the world (Brian McNeil, Wendy Weatherby, Steve Lawrence, Mick West, John Gahagan, Vladimir Skiba, Alexander Krotov) is out on REL. THE SCOTS MAGAZINE Celine was the 2003 recipient of the Auleen Theriault Young Tradition Award at Goderich Celtic Festival in Ontario Canada. The festival, one of Ontario's top cultural attractions, said that she "...combines great technical skills with a passion for the music and a warm personality that enwraps her audience...Celine brings life, lift, love and laughter to each performance whether before several thousand or in an intimate session..." She received her award alongside the Ernie King Tradition Bearer winner, the musician, collector and film maker, Peter Kennedy from England.
