..MERCHANTS' CITY

BKDCD107

Calasaig's latest album !

Calasaig's 4th album, (recorded at Phase One in Toronto and at The Foundry in Glasgow), is named for the Merchant City area of Glasgow's city centre.

One of the tracks composed by Keith Easdale is "...a hymn of praise to St Andrews in the Square, the traditional music venue..." according to
THE HERALD
"...'Merchants City ' brings further high quality traditional Celtic music to their growing fan base around the world..."
MUSIC NEWS SCOTLAND

Tunes and praise for Glasgow centre this CD of traditional and recently-written pieces. Scottish folk
music blends with touches of Irish and Shetland, and a hint of Cape Breton. Lovely vocals, steaming
sets, and a tremendous selection of accompanying instruments.

BEGINNINGS

BKDV201

Video - charting the groups progress from it's early days in Scotland to their first tour of North America and appearence at Celtic Connections in Glasgow. Beginnings provides an interesting insight and behind the scenes look - travel, concert, radio and television footage with stunning Scottish scenery. Directed by Douglas Miller of Rosebank Productions.

"For those who like to let their eyes open their ears, the video Beginnings by Calasaig does just that...a random video diary, almost, of how the group, now arguably one of Scotland's foremost multi-instrumental bands, were founded, and how they do and have done their thing since...the interest never flags...breath-taking shots of Scottish scenery, just the sort of things that transatlantic tourists would give their eye-teeth to see, were it not for BSE, foot and mouth, and 9/11. Hopefully Calasaig's easy-watching, easy-listening and extrememly friendly video might help some change their minds............" ..................................................................................................THE SCOTS MAGAZINE
